Children’s Residential Home

Physical, Emotional and Mental Health

Children’s Residential Home

While geographically situated within the Tadley area, the property falls under the local authority jurisdiction of Hampshire Council, giving the home access to Hampshire’s education, health, and planning services.

A warm, safe, and structured environment where children can feel secure, supported, and at home. The brand-new gated home is a spacious, detached five-bedroom set on two floors, spread over 3,466 square feet with underfloor heating in various rooms. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood of Tadley, Hampshire. It is situated in proximity to the town centre and has direct access to numerous amenities, which include shops, leisure facilities, medical services, and external education providers.

All 5 bedrooms are en-suite designed and equipped to meet the needs of the children using our services. All our bedrooms are single occupancy.

Health and Well-being

Physical, Emotional and Mental Health

Children’s Residential Home

At KRIPA Blossom, we are deeply committed to supporting the holistic health and well-being of every child in our care. We recognise that health is not simply about the absence of illness; it includes emotional resilience, mental health, identity, self-worth, and the ability to thrive physically, socially, and developmentally.

From the point of referral, we work collaboratively with placing authorities, social workers, parents or carers, and medical professionals to ensure that each child’s health needs are clearly understood, documented, and consistently met. A comprehensive health assessment forms part of every placement plan, and a tailored health strategy is implemented from the moment the child arrives.

Supporting Health Education and Safe Choices

All children receive support to attend routine and specialist appointments, including GP, dental, optometry, immunisations, and developmental screenings. They are encouraged to complete an annual health check, and where specific health conditions are identified (e.g., asthma, diabetes, or enuresis), appropriate medical guidance is followed and embedded into care planning.

We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. Our staff receive trauma and attachment training, alongside specialist training in self-harm awareness, suicidal ideation, and mental health first aid. When needed, we support referrals to CAMHS or other therapeutic services, and staff create a home environment where it’s safe for children to talk about how they feel without fear, shame, or dismissal.

Supporting Health Education and Safe Choices

Supporting Health Education and Safe Choices

Children are supported to make informed choices about their personal health and wellbeing.

We engage in sensitive, age-appropriate conversations around:

❖ Sexual health and consent

❖ Healthy relationships

❖ Substance misuse

❖ Online safety and digital wellbeing

❖ Anti-radicalisation and personal safety

❖ Bullying, peer pressure, and identity support

Where applicable, support is provided through trusted adults, external agencies, and advocacy. Our home maintains links with Tadley Children First, local GP practices, community health teams, and school nurses.

Nutrition, Exercise and Daily Living

Supporting Health Education and Safe Choices

Nutrition, Exercise and Daily Living

We encourage children to participate in menu planning, food shopping, and cooking routines, supporting their independence and life skills. Meals are nutritious, balanced, and respectful of any cultural, religious, or dietary needs. Healthy snacks and hydration are available at all times, and food is never used as punishment or control.

Physical activity is built into the rhythm of daily life. We encourage participation in local sports clubs, gym sessions, swimming, horse riding, walking, and recreational play, always tailored to the interests and abilities of the individual child.

Health and Identity

Supporting Health Education and Safe Choices

Nutrition, Exercise and Daily Living

We take care to ensure that health needs connected to ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, disability, or faith are explored and supported. These are not seen as secondary considerations, but essential to a child’s whole identity. Our care planning actively addresses cultural health practices, beliefs, and personal preferences.

Where a child has specific or complex needs, bespoke training is sourced as part of the placement process.

We maintain strong partnerships with local health agencies and actively promote multi-agency working. Children are offered the support of a key worker, trusted adult, or independent advocate to help them express and manage any health needs, particularly in reviews or planning meetings.

Medication and Health Planning

Medication and Health Planning

All staff are trained in first aid and medication administration, with refresher training as part of ongoing CPD. Medication is stored securely in locked facilities, and controlled drugs are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements. Each administration is clearly recorded and signed, with regular audits conducted by the Registered Manager.

No medication is given without the appropriate authority or consent. Only medication prescribed by a medical professional is administered, except where prior agreement is in place (e.g., for minor childhood illnesses with local authority/parental consent).

Where children are assessed as capable of self-administering medication, a formal risk assessment is completed and reviewed regularly.
